The Murlo Estate has belonged to the Carabba Tettamanti family for generations, and as a result, it is steeped in their rich family history. It has been their rural home, and a place to explore for many decades during their luxury holidays in Umbria. However, approximately 10 years ago they decided to renovate some of the abandoned buildings into exclusive luxury villas. Since their first renovation, they have restored medieval farmhouses, chapels, mills and towers into 9 stunning luxury holiday villas in Umbria.

Describe the surroundings and the things to do on the Estate.

Our luxury villas in Italy are immersed in nature. We are surrounded by hundreds of hectares of woods and valleys, in a protected reserve where wild animals live freely. Our guests can explore the untainted nature by going trekking and biking during their luxury villa holiday in Umbria. The activities guests can undertake on our wonderful Estate never ends! From visiting our cosy farm and pony ranch, to experiencing the beauty of bees through our ‘Bee Experience’ or going truffle hunting with our expert guide and his faithful dog, while discovering ancient traditions typical of our region.

Our luxury villas in Umbria are all completely renovated. Each features new and modern furniture, leisure facilities and private gardens, whilst still conserving the rustic and original details. Terracotta floors and stone walls preserves the authenticity of our estate, whilst reminding guests of the history. These traditional features date back to when the farmhouse was originally, as the name suggests, home to the estate’s farmers.

All the main historical towns and cities that characterise and give great value to Umbria are also nearby. Guests are able to visit medieval places that are as intact as they were a thousand years ago. Everything about a luxury holiday in Umbria reminds us of the history that enriches these places. In addition to this, the local airport is at only a 30-minute drive, as are the culinary specialities of Umbria. Closer to home, we are also an organic farm, which is pretty special! Our guests have the option to buy daily fresh produce from the estate’s farm, including our homemade bread and sauces.

For all our luxury villa rentals, we include maid service and concierge service. But through our estate restaurant, Il Caldaro, we offer many interesting services and experiences. These include wine and oil tasting, cooking classes, and truffle hunting with dogs. For a more active option, guests can choose to go trekking, mountain biking, horse riding, and much more…

Il Caldaro Restaurant is located at one of the estate’s entrances. It is open every day for dinner, and for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Guests can reserve a table at the restaurant or request a dinner/lunch delivery to their villa. Those looking for more privacy on their luxury villas holiday, guests can also request a private chef.

For lunch on weekdays, we can prepare a cold cuts and deli meats, cheese, and salads for our guests staying on the estate. Guests can then have a picnic in true Italian style with the backdrop of the unquestionably stunning views across the estate.
