Summer in the Alps is so diverse and that is my favourite thing about it. I love that one day you can be relaxing in the sunshine by the lake and the next you can be throwing yourself down the glacier melt on an awesome white-water rafting trip or hiking up with a picnic to enjoy stunning viewpoints. Whatever the activity though, there is nothing quite like the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you on a summer's day in the mountains.

What I love the most about summer in the Alps is the stunning scenery. You think it's beautiful in the winter with the snow but just wait until you see the stunning views in the summer and ringing of cow bells in the mountains. It is so green with piercing blue skies, dramatic scenery and deep green blue lakes. It is so fun jumping on the chairlift in walking boots and hiking off to picnic in the mountains or off to some hidden mountain restaurant.

As an avid skier I would love to say summer skiing on the glaciers, but summer in the Alps is much more. The sheer number of different activities available on a mountain summer holiday makes it much more exciting and versatile when you compare to a beach holiday. The scenery is way better too!

The views are as stunning as they are in ski season. There is lots to do including cycling, the Luge (Toboggan run down the mountain), beautiful lakes and rivers. Not forgetting Aquariaz in Avoriaz, which is great for the children with heated pools, a lazy river and slides.
