Villa Sante Croce is one of nine luxury villas on the exclusive Murlo Estate. This luxurious, three bedroom property, has had an immaculate restoration and has been beautifully finished throughout to create inviting and relaxing interiors. Outdoors, the beautiful gardens, panoramic views and infinity pool create a heavenly setting for a luxury family holiday in Umbria.

Upon entering Villa Sante Croce, you will be welcomed into the spacious and cosy living area, filled by natural light streaming through the large patio door. Here, comfortable sofas are perfectly positioned to socialise in with the whole group after a full day of exploring the beauties of the Murlo Estate. Calming colour tones, exposed beams and a large stone fireplace give the space a relaxing charm, guests are sure to love.

For mealtimes, there is a well-equipped country kitchen, providing all that you may need to create a tasty local dish. A small kitchen table, for 4, can be used as an ideal children's supper spot while you prepare your evening dinner and watch over them. Whilst the Villa Sante Croce provides an elegant dining room with large oval table for 6, you may prefer to dine alfresco to appreciate the fine weather and surroundings. Outside, you can relax and enjoy alfresco meals with postcard views of the Umbrian countryside. Choose between the covered pergola terrace for a welcoming bit of shade or the BBQ area on the poolside. For a morning coffee, then the outdoor lounge area on the main terrace provides a more comfortable setting as you take in the stunning scenery of the surrounding estate.

One of the main luxury features of Villa Santa Croce is the outdoor infinity swimming pool (13 m x 5 m)! Have fun jumping into 1.5 meters of deep water or sunbathe on the loungers by the pool, sheltered with parasols. The private garden is fully fenced and has been wonderfully landscaped with mature borders, providing beautiful aromas of lavender and pockets of colour. There is plenty of lawn for the kids to enjoy as you relax in the villa's hammock with a good book or glass of wine.

Villa Sante Croce offers three well proportioned and equally beautiful bedrooms on its first floor. All the rooms have been decorated in similar styles, presenting a calming space to unwind and enjoy your well-deserved night's rest. The master bedroom benefits from a large en-suite and walk in wardrobe as well as private garden access, ideal for an early morning swim. The master bedroom and a second en-suite bedroom can both be configured as twins to best suit your group's needs. Whereas, the remaining en-suite bedroom features a four-poster bed. With peaked ceilings and gentle lighting, this is a beautifully elegant space.

Being part of the Tenuta di Murlo estate, guests at Villa Santa Croce can benefit from the services and facilities of the estate. Enjoy a gourmet dinner at the Il Caldaro restaurant, a drink in the Orangerie bar, visit the Murlo farm, or simply enjoy the walks around the various rivers and lakes on the estate.

The villa has laundry facilities and parking. Please note, the villa is accessed by a gravel road and is occasionally steep. It is not suited for low vehicles or sports cars.

Prices are based on exclusive use of the villa, for up to 6 guests, and is offered on a self-catered basis with housekeeping 6 days a week, pool/garden maintenance and complimentary shuttle service to/from the Estate’s restaurant, Il Caldaro (prior to arrangement).

Location

Villa Santa Croce is one of the nine luxury villas within the exclusive Murlo Estate, which covers an impressive 18,000 acres. The Villa Santa Croce is set right at the top of the Monte Santa Croce and offers 360° breath-taking views of the Umbrian countryside and its rolling hills.

In nearby San Giovanni del Pantano (2 minutes away), guests can find a local grocery store for essentials, whilst Pierantonio, a small village with a good choice of shops and amenities, is 10 km away and 15 minutes by car. The villa is also located only 20 minutes drive north of Perugia, a characterful historic city and the capital of Umbria.

The property is strategically situated in the centre of the Umbria region, perfect to discover the hidden gems of the traditional and picturesque Umbrian and Tuscan cities. The famous cities of Deruta and Assisi are approximately 40 minutes drive away, while the hikers will love stumbling across some remarkable views of Lake Trasimeno, which is only 20 minutes drive away from the Estate.

Il Caldaro Restaurant

Ideal for parties, special events or romantic dinners, Il Caldaro restaurant embodies the Umbrian lifestyle. Serving traditional Umbrian dishes in a modern style and highlighting flavours from the local region. They use many ingredients from the estate's grounds. The wine cellar has a strong focus on local producers, paying homage to the great wines of Italy. For extra convenience, a free shuttle service to and from the restaurant is offered!

The Orangerie

Just a few steps from Il Caldaro, the Orangerie bar is a stylish haven and a great spot for a morning coffee or more relaxed light lunch. In the evening, the atmosphere changes to give way to a cocktail lounge, perfect for a pre-dinner aperitivo.

Antognolla Golf

Located at the entrance to the Tenuta di Murlo estate, it is one of the most spectacular and challenging golf courses in Italy. Guests at Tenuta di Murlo receive a 20% discount on the 18-hole green fees and 5% off in the golf store and on golf lessons.

The Murlo Farm

The Murlo farm includes a variety of animals from goats, hens, rabbit and ducks: live a unique experience, suitable both for children and adults, in connecting with the natural and animal world, while appreciating and learning the differences with the human world! Also, check out the biodynamic vegetable garden and try out the 'nectar of god' honey produced in the Estate farm and purchasable at Il Caldaro restaurant!

The Murlo Lakes & Rivers

The Murlo Estate privilege of a vast natural reserve. Swim in the natural pools of the Molinella river surrounded by peace and tranquillity. Alternatively, join a fishing or diving session in one of their many lakes. For the maximum relaxation, sunbathe by the lake while enjoying a local homemade picnic basket provided by Il Caldaro Restaurant, in a wild and natural atmosphere!

The Murlo Vineyard

The Murlo vineyard is part of the Estate future vision to start producing their own red wine, 'Cercqua del Marchese', named after one of their oldest oak tree.

The Murlo Olive Groves

Attention to ingredients and nature is the feature that makes The Murlo Estate unique, and their olive groves are a clear example. Thousands of centuries old olive trees are planted in the estate countryside, being treated with organic fertilization year by year, they produce The Murlo Estate olive oil: purchasable at Il Caldaro Restaurant.
