Soustons Luxury Villas
South West France, France
Description
Soustons is an exceptionally positioned village where south west France meets the Atlantic Ocean. Draped in beautifully deep, sandy beaches on the west side, with free parking and lifeguards during the summer months, pine forests surrounding Soustons village, and a large fresh water lake, Lac d'Soutstons, on the east.
Soustons is divided into two areas; the town of Soustons, 7 km from the coast located on the southerly end of a large Lake, and Soustons Beach on the large natural sea fed lake (with its own beaches & Island) known as the "Lac Marin de Port d'Albret".
Soustons is surrounded by five lakes in total, creating an outdoor playground where the whole family can get out in the fresh air and go exploring. Activities a plenty, you can get stuck into sailing, surfing, windsurfing, rowing, canoeing or kayaking down the river, swimming, fishing, boat trips, and if you fancy leaving the water behind; have a go at mini golf, tennis, or take a leisurely stroll and discover many of the walking trails, mountain and forestry bike rides or even go climbing in the trees on the high ropes course!
With the Centre de Formation Nautique de Soustons at your service, you can be anything from a beginner to a professional with lessons or equipment hire to suit your needs.
If the kids (or big kids) haven't had enough activities to entertain them, head to the many nature reserves, pop along to Labenne Zoo, or dine with the seals and sharks and learn about the ocean at Musée de la me and La Cité de l'Océan, at Biarritz Ocean.
Be sure to visit the open-air markets in July and August, the main one is situated on the plaza in front of the arena every Monday morning (year round). On Thursdays, there is a small market with regional products and an evening market (from 6pm) on the plaza at the marine lake on Soustons Beach. Friday evenings see the downtown streets come to life with their evening market.
Take a stroll along the huge stretch of Moliets beach and once having worked up an appetite, head to La Cave aux Moules for some fresh, local mussels! Minimise Location Map
