Located on Island St. Marguerite, Le Grand Jardin is the ultimate exclusive estate on the Côte d'Azur. Being the only private property on the island, this high-end luxury villa comes with an intriguing history. Dating back to the 13th century, the property was home of monks and remarkable historical figures, including Louis XIV and the 15th-century Dukes of Guise. Legends and stories around this secret sanctuary are many: the most rumoured is the one believing that the famous Man in the Iron Mask was once held prisoner in the villa's fortress.

Le Grand Jardin (meaning 'The Great Garden'), can accommodate up to 24 guests in 12 bedrooms, spread across seven different buildings: the Governor's house, the Pool House, the Guest House, the Fortress Tower and three cottages. The estate is ideal for large groups wanting to escape the real world in complete privacy, while still being in close distance to Cannes. Featuring a luxury eco-spa, an outdoor swimming pool and 14,000m² of botanical gardens, Le Grand Jardin is the perfect choice for your luxury summer holiday in France.

Beautiful history meets uncompromised luxury from the moment you step foot onto the estate. Surrounded by 13th century walls, modern luxurious interiors combine to ooze the minimalistic style of southern France inside the estate's buildings. Careful use of sustainable materials, including rock flooring, white and grey marble, and neutral beige colours, characterise the interior design throughout the whole property. The Governor House hosts the villa's main living areas, when not enjoying the plethora of facilities or outside space. The classy living and dining areas showcase a bright and airy ambience, ideal for gatherings with friends and family. A fully equipped modern kitchen is also available, for evening preparations by your very own private chef. The villa also includes an extensive wine and Cigar cellar for the most discerning guests.

Enjoy alfresco lunches or apéritifs on the long table under the pool house pergola, creating the perfect setting to socialise. You will reach ultimate relaxation, thanks to the numerous wellness facilities available at Le Grand Jardin. The villa's eco spa includes three treatment rooms with a spa therapist, perfect to prioritise your wellbeing in an elegant setting. Furthermore, you will find a sauna, a Hammam and a gym.

Le Grand Jardin's 12 bedrooms all offer a heavenly night's sleep. Found across the estate's seven separate buildings, Le Grand Jardin is perfectly set up for guests who wish to socialise together, yet still retain their own privacy. Within the main villa (the Governor House), guests will find a spacious, 53m² master bedroom complete with a dressing room and en-suite bathroom, as well as a private terrace. Equally impressive, the double bedroom found on the Fortress Tower's first floor, encompasses the character and history of this villa complex, featuring high ceilings and multiple balconies for 360-degree views of your surroundings. The guest house's four double bedrooms are split across its ground and first floors. On the ground floor, the two bedrooms found here are interconnected, making a perfect family suite. Adjacent to the guest house, on the ground floor of the pool and wellness area, are a further three spacious double bedroom suites. The remaining double bedrooms can be found in three separate, self-contained cottages located along different sides of the garden, suitable for extended family.

For additional convenience, the villa is provided with air-conditioning throughout and a security system. There is also a helipad for guests arriving at their luxury summer holiday by helicopter.

Prices are based on the exclusive use of the villa for up to 24 guests on a fully staffed basis, to include full staff services (house manager, housekeeping, chef, service staff, driver and night porter) as well as private airport transfers on arrival/departure and complimentary daily breakfast and afternoon tea. Food and drinks for lunches and dinner service are charged separately.

Location

Located on the coast of the UNESCO protected Île de Sainte-Marguerite, Le Grand Jardin is the French Riviera’s most exclusive hideaway. The island not only showcases a large historical heritage, but also features diversified flora and fauna, being classified as a biological reserve since 2002.

Being the largest of the Lérins Islands, Sainte-Marguerite offers plenty of activities for guests to enjoy on their villa holiday. A range of walks, visiting the island's forests and bays, offer the opportunity to take in the beauty of the local wildlife are nearby to the villa. The Fort Royal can be found on the other side of the island, just an approximate 14-minute walk from the Le Grand Jardin. Linking with this famous historic monument, Sainte-Marguerite island also features the first underwater eco-museum in France and the Mediterranean, a series of 7 statues (about 100m from the shore of Le Grand Jardin) representing the 'Man in the Iron Mask'. Boat excursions, to close by islands and villages, can also be enjoyed from the island.

Le Grand Jardin is only a 10-minute journey by private boat or helipad from the chic city of Cannes. In fact, guests will easily be able to reach the famous promenade of La Croisette as well as the Cannes Festival palace. Here you will also have access to a choice of shops and luxury boutiques, classy restaurants and glamorous bars.

As well as the concierge team adhering to your every request, an in-house manager will be on hand 8hrs per day, to make you feel at home in this luxury villa. Included within the package, guests have arrival and departure transfers from Nice airport, followed by a boat transfer across to/from the island. In addition, all guests will be able to make use of one daily return trip from the Island to Cannes, for a day trip on your villa holiday. Selected drinks are at the guest's disposal and a housekeeping service (make-up and turn-down services), to make sure your home-from-home is kept tidy throughout your stay, are also included.
