North Mauritius Luxury Villas

Trou Aux Biches is in the north of Mauritius and is arguably one of the attractive and friendliest beach resorts on the island. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe as it consists mainly of private villas, fishing village and the Trou Aux Biches Hotel. The sea inside the lagoon is as smooth as a swimming pool so it is safe and ideal for children. Snorkelers can enjoy a swim out to the white surf of the coral reef. The lagoon is very sheltered from prevailing winds making it one of the best locations for winter months (June to September). The village has a well-stocked Popo supermarket, several restaurants, diving centres and a casino. Grand Bay is only 10 minutes drive where you can enjoy the variety of bars and restaurants. The airport is an 1hr 15mins drive and Port Louis 20 mins.

Mont Choisy is located next to Trou Aux Biches and Pointe Aux Canonniers. This residential beach area is a quiet location protected by offshore coral reefs, the wide lagoon is perfect for swimming and water sports. Water sports enthusiasts will be in their element. The “Blue Water Diving Centre” and the “Killer Sports Fishing Centre” are located here and are open year round. Water skiing, pedal boats, windsurfing and glass bottom boat trips are available as well as cruising aboard catamarans, undersea walks and exploring in a submarine (Blue Safari). Grand Bay is only 10 minutes drive where you can enjoy the variety of bars and restaurants. The airport is 1hr 15mins drive and Port Louis 30 mins, Trou Aux Biches is 5 mins.

Jutting out to sea on the north west coast of the island, Pointe Aux Canonniers is a tranquil beachside residential area, with crystal clear waters and silver sands – ideal for families. Le Canonnier and Club Med holidays are nearby and provide dining and watersports facilities. The local fishing landing station is a great place to buy the catch of the day. Grand Bay is only 5 minutes drive where you can enjoy the variety of bars and restaurants. The airport is 1hr 20 mins drive, Port Louis is 30 mins and Trou Aux Biches 10 mins.

Cosmopolitan Grand Bay encompasses all the various elements of Mauritius, from fascinating temples, markets, stylish shops to tropical landscapes, to an excellent choice of cuisine and a vibrant atmosphere. Balaclava Ruins
A few metres away from Baie aux Tortues, which 17th century sailors named after the many tortoises in the area, can be found the ruins of the old Balaclava estate. Visitors will be able to observe the sea walls, whose initial foundations were laid down by Mahé de Labourdonnais.

The Triolet Shivala
This is the longest village on the island, Triolet offers an opportunity to visit the biggest Hindu temple, the Maheswarnath, first built in 1819 in honour of the Gods Shiva, Krishna, Vishnu, Muruga, Brahma and Ganesha.
