Original features are plentiful: terracotta floors, exposed stone walls and oak beamed ceilings have been beautifully restored. Bedrooms are softly decorated in pastel shades, with deep comfortable beds and modern en suite bathrooms (two rooms share a family bathroom). On the ground floor, a spacious living area has an original fireplace and piano, and a designer kitchen is fully-equipped and ready for living life à la Provençal, with plenty of space for preparing produce gathered at one of the local markets. At the centre of the house, a courtyard is the ideal spot to gather for breakfast or a cool shaded lunch.
Outdoors, honey-stone walls and pale blue shutters sing of Provence, just as much as the olive trees, lavender borders and shaded outdoor terraces. An oasis pool, which can be heated, is surrounded with stylish Italian pool furniture, lawns, and aromatic borders of wild herbs.

The jagged mountains of Les Alpilles (or 'little Alps'), which form the backdrop to the market town of St Remy, made the perfect setting for the ancient Roman town of Glanum. Providing protection from attack from local tribes and ideally positioned to control the passageway through the mountains, Glanum thrived as the Romans increased their hold on the region. Today the remains of the city are open to visitors, and include a spectacularly well-preserved triumphant arch.
Below Glanum, in a private valley of 12 acres, is one of our prettiest Provence villas, Domaine de Mussargue. Dating back to 1616, the property was given a complete overhaul in 2009, producing one of the leading properties in the region, and a beautiful example of contemporary Provencal country style.
